Shhhh, the Baby's Asleep
My cats are creatures of habit. They like to do the same thing, every day, at the same time each day.In the morning, my cats have a ritual with me while I am getting ready for work in my bathroom. We do this every. single. morning. It usually starts when I get out of the shower. Both of them jump in as I am trying to get out. They watch the water drip from the walls, faucet, shower head. And they try to catch them. But instead it looks like they are trying to attack the inside of the shower.
Next, they sit on the vanity while I brush my teeth. One wants to play in the water, the other one is facinated with my toothbrush. He actually reaches towards it so he can "sniff" it. Yep, smells like a toothbrush. Proceed.
Then, I put in my contacts. After I dump out the left-over contact solution into the sink, Bear will get into the sink and lick the remaining contact solution off the drain. Gross.
Next, I start to dry my hair. One kitty leaves the bathroom because the noise scares her. The other sits on the vanity and watches me in amazement.
But this morning, he didn't watch me in astonishing wonderment. No indeed. Instead, the white noise from the hair dryer put him to sleep. Just like a baby. So there he is, sleeping standing up, on my bathroom vanity. All of a sudden *THUD* he falls into the sink.
Out like a light. Curled up in the sink. Cutest thing I have seen in my life.
And people wonder why I love my cats so much.

OH my gosh that is so fantastic. Snap a shot of the kid in the sink, would you? Oh my goodness.
I love when you talk about your cats! My cats (count 'em--5!!) do funny and crazy stuff too. So from one adoring cat-person to another, thanks for the cat stories!
Kris, I'll try next time. At 5 am, it's hard enough for me to remember to put my make-up on, much less take a picture!
Tao - Thanks! 5 cats! Wow, my 2 are enough for me to keep up with! You need to start a blog so we can read all your cat stories! I'm sure yours are much crazier than mine!
My step-mom's cat would crawl into the bathroom sink all the time at our old house. We'd always find him in the weirdest spots.
He was probably planning on how to kill us in our sleep, being that cats are evil and all.
No offense though. I'm sure yours is a good one. :)
Our routine sounds similar. Mine wakes me up (meowing in ear, patting butt or face until I get up). Then MUST RACE to feed the starving darling. If I don't finish quickly enough (my breakfast) I get meowed at to get going. Come out to find her on my sink with the same toothpaste thing, plus she licks water from the spout. And waves the tail in time to the music. Think I have a rock and roll cat.
Saturday was much worse. She told me when to change her litter. and a second order too but mericifully the details are fading.
Wish SHE'd go to my job interview.

*LOL*
so adorable.
I wish we'd have a Bring Your Cat to Work Day. That would make life even better.
Kris, I wish that we'd have an "office cat". A stray cat that lives at the office. Every weekend someone different gets to take the cat home with them. Just like preschool!
